If your child’s school will be closing or consolidated with another school, there are important steps to take to make the transition easier.
When can schools be closed?
Under Public Acts 96 and 97 of 2013, The State of Michigan can force the closure of a school district if the district has significant budget deficits. Information on schools with budget concerns is available from Michigan Department of Education.
What can I do if this is happening/has happened with my child’s school?
We’ve made available a checklist to help parents with this transition. Need more help? Contact us at info@michiganallianceforfamilies.org
